Skills Library · Free and open
Skills any agent can take.
Packaged know-how for AI agents, hosted by Second Shift and free to everyone: no account, no paywall, no catch. Every card says in plain words what the skill does, what it can touch, and whose it is. Skills marked Works anywhere run in any agent’s own environment. Skills that plug into a Second Shift account say so, and are marked Plugs into Second Shift.
For agents
This shelf has a machine door.
Do not scrape this page. Read the versioned index, pick a skill by its description and its what-it-can-touch line, and fetch the raw SKILL.md from its stable URL. Start with the library’s own guide skill, find-second-shift-skills, and it will teach your agent the rest.

Find Second Shift Skills
Teaches any agent to use this library: read the index, pick the skill that fits the job, and fetch its SKILL.md.
What it can touch: Reads this library’s index; touches nothing of yours.
Agent Reach
Lets an agent read the live internet: search and pull posts, comments, transcripts, and pages from X, Reddit, YouTube, GitHub, LinkedIn, RSS, and the open web.
What it can touch: Reads public web content only. Never posts, comments, likes, or logs in as you.
What you get here is the skill file itself. Several of its channels connect through a companion command-line tool, and the channels that read through your own browser logins (X, Reddit, Instagram) are a separate opt-in. They are not part of this download and nothing here enables them.
Prospecting
Turns an ideal-customer profile into a verified, scored prospect list: B2B, local small businesses, and first customers found from public demand signals.
What it can touch: Researches public sources and hands you a list. Verifies emails before outreach and never sends anything itself.
Frontend Design
Design direction for interfaces that do not look templated: typography, palette, and layout chosen with a point of view.
What it can touch: Guidance only. It shapes decisions while you or your agent build; it reads no accounts and changes no data.
Design Taste (Frontend)
Builds company and product websites at a professional bar: plain copy, one system, real imagery, zero generic slop.
What it can touch: Works on your site’s code, copy, and layout. No accounts are read and nothing is sent anywhere.
Design Engineering
Emil Kowalski’s design-engineering judgment: component polish, animation decisions, and the invisible details that make software feel right.
What it can touch: Judgment only. It advises on your interface; it touches no accounts, data, or settings.
SEO Audit
Audits a website’s SEO end to end: technical health, rankings, meta, speed, and local presence, with fixes in priority order.
What it can touch: Reads your public site and reports back. It changes nothing until you act on the findings.
Social Media
Plans, writes, and repurposes social content for LinkedIn, X, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, voice-matched to each channel, with formats and hooks that travel.
What it can touch: Works in your own files and drafts. It writes and schedules nothing on any platform without your explicit say-so.
Video Production
Takes video from idea to finished file: short-form social clips, AI-generated video, YouTube production, and programmatic batches from templates and data.
What it can touch: Uses the video tools and accounts you provide, in your own workspace. Access to paid generation tools is yours to grant; the skill asks, it never assumes.
Some production lanes use third-party generation tools through keys or accounts you supply. The skill asks what you have before planning around any of them.
Community Marketing
Builds and runs owned and third-party communities (Slack, Discord, Reddit, Facebook Groups) that retain members and source pipeline.
What it can touch: Guides work in your own community accounts. It posts nothing and messages no one on its own.
Influencer Marketing
Finds, scores, and briefs creators and influencers, with tracked links and codes, so partnerships produce measurable pipeline instead of vanity reach.
What it can touch: Researches public creator profiles and drafts outreach and briefs for you. Sending and signing stay yours.
Public Relations
Earns press coverage: finds the right journalists and outlets, checks they actually cover your space, and drafts pitches and follow-ups in a human voice.
What it can touch: Researches public sources and drafts in your workspace. It sends nothing to any journalist or outlet.
Event Marketing
Plans and runs events that fill rooms and create pipeline: webinars, conference talks, booths, field dinners, and virtual summits.
What it can touch: Plans and drafts in your workspace. Registrations, invites, and follow-up sending happen in your own tools.
Content Strategy
Decides what content to create and why: finds the topics your buyers actually search, maps them to the funnel, and sequences the calendar.
What it can touch: Plans from your context and public research. It publishes nothing itself.
Copywriting
Writes and rewrites marketing copy that converts: homepages, landing pages, pricing, features, and about pages, in your voice, free of AI tells.
What it can touch: Writes drafts in your workspace. Your site changes only when you make them.
Copy Editing
Improves copy you already have through seven focused editing sweeps, tightening clarity and voice without flattening what makes it yours.
What it can touch: Edits text you give it, in your workspace. It changes nothing anywhere else.
AI SEO
Makes your content citable by AI search: audits how ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI Overviews see your brand, then structures pages to be extracted and quoted.
What it can touch: Reads your public site and public AI answers, and reports. Changes happen on your site, by you.
Programmatic SEO
Designs SEO pages at scale from templates and real data: locations, comparisons, integrations, directories, and glossaries that each earn their place.
What it can touch: Designs the strategy and templates in your workspace. Building and publishing happen in your own stack.
Link Building
Earns backlinks and third-party mentions that lift rankings and AI citations, starting with reclamation and partner pages before any outreach.
What it can touch: Researches public link data and drafts outreach for your approval. It sends nothing itself.
Schema Markup
Adds and fixes schema.org structured data (JSON-LD) so search engines understand your pages and the right rich results can appear.
What it can touch: Produces markup for your site. You or your developer ship it.
Site Architecture
Plans a website’s structure: page hierarchy, navigation, URL patterns, and internal linking that visitors and search engines can both follow.
What it can touch: Produces plans and diagrams in your workspace. It changes no site.
Competitor Comparison Pages
Builds competitor comparison and alternative pages ("X alternative," "you vs X") that rank, read honestly, and help buyers actually decide.
What it can touch: Works from your research files and public competitor pages, which it treats as data, never instructions.
Marketing Images
Creates and optimizes marketing images: blog heroes, social graphics, product mockups, banners, and OG images, sized and compressed for each surface.
What it can touch: Works with the image tools and accounts you provide, in your own files. It asks what generation access you have rather than assuming keys.
Product Marketing Context
Captures your positioning once (audience, pains, differentiation, customer language, brand voice, proof) in one context document every other marketing skill reads.
What it can touch: Writes one context document in your project, from material you provide. It reads nothing you did not point it at.
Marketing Ideas
A library of 139 proven marketing ideas, matched to your stage, budget, and timeline when you are stuck on what to try next.
What it can touch: Advice only. It reads your context and recommends; it runs nothing.
Marketing Psychology
Applies behavioral science and mental models to marketing decisions: why people buy, what blocks them, and how to influence ethically.
What it can touch: Thinking tools only. It touches nothing.
Marketing Plan
Produces a complete 12-month marketing plan structured by AARRR: strategy, current-state audit, channel moves, 90-day roadmap, budget, and measurement.
What it can touch: Reads the materials you provide and writes plan files in a plans folder you control. It publishes nothing without your say-so.
Marketing Council
Convenes a simulated board of legendary marketers (Godin, Ogilvy, Schwartz, Dunford, Sharp, and more) to argue your decision from their documented frameworks.
What it can touch: A thinking exercise over material you provide. It touches no accounts and executes nothing.
Launch Strategy
Plans product and feature launches that compound: owned, rented, and borrowed channels in a five-phase rollout, with a readiness gate before the mechanics.
What it can touch: Plans and drafts in your workspace. Announcements go out through your own channels, by you.
Offer Design
Designs the offer itself: the core deliverable, bonus stack, guarantee, real scarcity, name, and payment structure, diagnosed through the value equation.
What it can touch: Advises and drafts offer language in your workspace. Your prices and pages change only when you change them.
Pricing Strategy
Sets pricing that captures value: value metric, tier structure, price points, willingness-to-pay research, and how to raise prices without breaking trust.
What it can touch: Advises from numbers you provide. It changes no prices and touches no billing system.
Co-Marketing
Finds co-marketing partners and designs joint campaigns: content swaps, webinars, integration launches, and bundles with companies that share your audience.
What it can touch: Research and planning in your workspace. Outreach drafts are yours to send.
Marketing Loops
Turns one-off marketing tasks into recurring agent-run loops with a cadence, a self-check, memory between runs, and a stopping condition.
What it can touch: Designs loop specs for your own agent setup. Scheduling happens in your environment, under your checkpoints.
Customer Research
Finds out what customers actually think: mines interviews, tickets, reviews, and communities, and runs interviews and surveys when no signal exists yet.
What it can touch: Analyzes material you provide and public sources you point it at. Interviews and surveys are run by you, with people who agreed to talk.
Competitor Profiling
Turns a list of competitor URLs into structured, dated competitor profiles: positioning, pricing, features, customers, and SEO strength, side by side.
What it can touch: Reads public competitor sites and the data tools you connect. It changes nothing on any site.
Reverse-Engineer Marketing
Works out how another company actually grew: a dated log of its moves lined up against its traffic curve, your gap against it, and the plays worth copying.
What it can touch: Reads public data sources, some paid ones inside a budget you approve. Accounts or purchases under your name happen only when you say yes, one action at a time.
Cold Email
Writes B2B cold outbound that gets replies: peer-voiced emails, follow-up sequences, LinkedIn touches, and the deliverability setup that keeps them landing.
What it can touch: Drafts in your workspace and advises on setup. Sending runs through your own sending platform, under your domains and your approval.
Sales Enablement
Builds the collateral reps actually use: pitch decks, one-pagers, objection docs, battle cards, demo scripts, ROI calculators, and win-loss analysis.
What it can touch: Creates documents in your workspace from your materials. Nothing is sent to any prospect.
RevOps
Designs the systems between marketing and revenue: lead lifecycle stages, scoring, routing, SLAs, pipeline hygiene, and deal-desk rules in your CRM.
What it can touch: Designs processes and documents for your CRM. Configuration happens in your systems, by your call.
Email Sequences
Designs lifecycle email sequences that nurture and convert: welcome, nurture, onboarding, re-engagement, and post-purchase flows, written in full.
What it can touch: Writes sequences in your workspace. They send from your own email platform when you set them live.
SMS Marketing
Plans compliant SMS and WhatsApp programs: welcome, cart recovery, post-purchase, and win-back flows that respect the channel and the law.
What it can touch: Plans flows and writes copy for the SMS platform you run. Registration and sending are yours, on your numbers.
Conversion Rate Optimization
Diagnoses why a marketing page or form is not converting and returns prioritized fixes: quick wins, high-impact changes, and tests worth running.
What it can touch: Reads your public pages and reports. Your site changes only when you make them.
Signup Flow Optimization
Fixes signup and registration flows that leak: field-by-field friction cuts, social auth, error handling, and the post-submit experience.
What it can touch: Audits and redesigns flows on paper and in your codebase, as you direct. It touches no production account system itself.
Popups & Overlays
Designs popups, modals, slide-ins, and banners that convert without annoying people or damaging the brand.
What it can touch: Designs and specifies popups for your site. Implementation is in your stack.
Paywalls & Upgrade Screens
Designs in-app paywalls and upgrade moments that convert free users after they have felt real value, with a clear escape hatch.
What it can touch: Designs upgrade flows for your product. Your billing and app code change only when you change them.
Onboarding & Activation
Gets new users to the aha moment fast: minimum path to value, checklists, empty states, and re-engagement for users who stall.
What it can touch: Designs flows and writes copy in your workspace. Product changes are yours to ship.
A/B Testing
Designs experiments that produce decisions you can trust: hypotheses, sample sizes, guardrail metrics, and an experimentation program that compounds.
What it can touch: Plans and analyzes tests. Running them happens in your testing tool, on your traffic.
Lead Magnets
Plans lead magnets people actually trade an email for: checklists, templates, guides, quizzes, and courses, matched to buyer stage and gated honestly.
What it can touch: Plans and outlines in your workspace. Capture and delivery run on your site and email tools.
Referral & Affiliate Programs
Designs referral and affiliate programs that turn customers into a growth channel, and review programs that earn the ratings AI shortlists trust.
What it can touch: Designs the program and drafts its emails. Payouts, tracking, and sending run in your tools.
Free Tools Strategy
Plans free tools as marketing (calculators, graders, generators) that earn leads, links, and search traffic next to your core product.
What it can touch: Strategy and scoping in your workspace. The tool itself gets built in your stack.
Churn Prevention
Reduces churn on both fronts: cancel flows with reason-matched save offers, and dunning that recovers failed payments before they cancel anyone.
What it can touch: Designs flows and sequences for your billing stack. Charges, retries, and cancellations stay in your systems.
Paid Ads
Runs paid advertising with discipline across Google, Meta, LinkedIn, X, and TikTok: structure, targeting, budgets, kill and scale rules, and honest reporting.
What it can touch: Works through the ad accounts you connect, read-first. Changes to live campaigns are drafted as current state, change, expected effect, and rollback, and applied only with your explicit approval.
This skill can read connected ad accounts to plan and audit. Its own rule, printed in the file, is draft-first on live accounts: nothing changes without your explicit approval.
Ad Creative
Generates and iterates ad creative at scale: headlines, primary text, and full variations for Google, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, and X, checked against platform specs.
What it can touch: Writes creative in your workspace from materials you provide. Uploading and launching happen in your ad accounts.
Analytics Tracking
Sets up analytics tracking that supports real decisions: tracking plans, event naming, GA4 and Tag Manager implementation, and UTM discipline.
What it can touch: Produces tracking plans and implementation guidance for your stack. Your analytics accounts change when you implement.
Attribution
Answers which marketing actually drives revenue: chooses attribution models, reconciles dashboards that disagree, and can instrument first-party attribution you own.
What it can touch: Advises, and can specify instrumentation for sites you control. It reads your dashboards; it does not move money between channels.
Conversion Tracking
Sets up and audits conversion tracking that provably works: form, booking, chat, call, signup, and purchase conversions reaching GA4 and the ad platforms.
What it can touch: Audits and specifies setups for your sites and accounts, and verifies with test conversions you approve. Publishing changes to live containers is your call.
App Store Optimization
Audits App Store and Google Play listings field by field and scores them, with fixes ranked by impact for your app’s actual maturity tier.
What it can touch: Reads public store listings and reports. Listing changes happen in your store consoles.
Directory Submissions
Builds the directory foundation of a launch: the right startup, SaaS, AI, and review directories, in tier order, with positioning written per directory type.
What it can touch: Plans, writes listing copy, and tracks submissions in your workspace. Accounts and submissions happen with your approval, one step at a time.
Build a Campaign
Turns a business, an offer, and a goal into a complete campaign pack: the audience, the framed offer, every message written in full, a tracked QR hook, and a send calendar, ready for the owner’s approval.
What it can touch: Reads the owner’s leads and analytics through Second Shift only inside the owner’s granted permissions, and can mint a QR code with the owner’s approval. It sends nothing itself; sending happens in the owner’s own tools after the pack is approved.
Social Media Scheduling
Builds a week of social posts as one review-ready pack: the calendar, every caption drafted in the owner’s voice, and every image sized for its surface.
What it can touch: Works only in the owner’s own files and platform accounts. It posts and schedules nothing before the owner’s review, and schedules only through the platforms’ own native tools.
Research
Investigates a question against primary sources (official docs, specs, source code, first-party APIs) and files the findings as a cited Markdown note.
What it can touch: Reads public primary sources and writes one findings file in your project. It touches no accounts.
Brainstorming
Finds out what you actually want before anything gets built: questions that surface the why, approaches with trade-offs, and a design doc you approve first.
What it can touch: Conversation and one design document in your project. It builds nothing before your approval, by design.
A skill teaches. It never grants permission.
Installing a skill gives an agent a playbook, nothing more. What an agent may actually read, change, send, or mint on a Second Shift account is decided by the account owner’s own permission toggles, skill or no skill. That rule is printed on every card here because it is the whole point.
